Tom Hirons' name is suddenly, it seems, on people's lips everywhere. The poem that brought him to fame is 'Sometimes a Wild God', which has been shared from friend to friend with astonished delight, ultimately creating a groundswell of enthusiastic follower-ship (including the likes of Nick Cave and Michael Sheen). As one commentator put it, 'Sometimes a Wild God' is now 'a subcultural passport or token of recognition, passing from hand to hand and mouth to ear all about the world.'
At this Treadwell's night for poetry, folklore and nature lovers, Tom will give a live reading of this iconic piece, as well as some works from his new collection Queen of Heaven.
