About The Event
Join us at Treadwell's for a night of live music and Welsh bardic history with folk musician Chris Avery.
In this in-person performance, Avery presents a live set of music inspired by nature, longing, hope and resistance. Drawing on early Welsh sources, including a 1613 harp manuscript, he reimagines traditional material through contemporary guitar and song. A short talk introduces the music, exploring Welsh bardic traditions and their relevance today. Expect an evening of haunting melodies and illuminating history, followed by a drinks soirée on the shop floor.
Chris Avery is a Welsh folk musician, guitarist and composer. He works with traditional and ancient melodies from Welsh folk song to classical music, transforming and reimagining them for modern audiences.
