About The Event
This event in the Heathenry Series is an evening of remembrance of ancestors, both from our times and the ones long gone, from our Pagan past. The first part of the evening will be a lecture, covering some of the Norse and Anglo-Saxon traditions regarding ancestors, burials, and ceremonies to the dead. Examples of how modern Heathens understand and liaise with the dead today will also be discussed. In the second half of the session, Andre leads a simple ceremony of remembrance of our ancestors. The format can be transposed to a in-person ritual, if attendants would like to hold a simple but meaningful ceremony with their friends or families in the future. People of all genders, ethnicities and backgrounds are warmly welcome to this inclusive workshop. No previous experience required.
Andre Henriques is a longstanding and well-loved member of the pagan community, with over 25 years’ experience on the Heathen path. He has been active in the Heathen community in the UK for 15 years, having led many ceremonies, lectures and workshops on the subject of the Northern traditions of Europe.
