Hannah Sanders

Hannah Sanders has over thirty years’ experience exploring and teaching British folk and herbal magic. A long-standing practitioner of plant lore, cunning craft and green witchcraft, she is known for her imaginative, lore-rich approach to working with the natural world.

Alongside decades of magical practice, Hannah holds a doctorate in cultural anthropology and has written extensively on modern Paganism, folklore and witchcraft. She was also the final apprentice of writer and tarot reader Joyee Collin-Smith, and spent years travelling the UK as a tarot reader.

Since joining Treadwell’s in 2021, Hannah has become a popular tutor of herb lore, plant magic and British folk traditions. Her classes are known for weaving together folklore, history and hands-on practice, offering students an evocative yet grounded way into these living traditions. 

Alongside her magical work, Hannah is one half of the acclaimed folk duo Hannah Sanders & Ben Savage. Known for their interpretations of traditional folk song and acoustic music, they have performed internationally and received widespread recognition within the contemporary folk scene. Her deep immersion in British folk culture continues to shape and enrich her teaching.
