Chaos Magic & Alternative Identity - Lecture-Seminar

In this lecture-seminar, Patricia MacCormack explores how chaos magick has become a queer radical art form as well as a magickal system. Being so deeply involved in art and experiment, it produces a queer way of understanding the world, and reinforces it. Perhaps this is why it has been embraced by people who have alternative identities. It critiques hierarchies of power based gender, race, sexuality, ability -- even species. It invites spectacular new ways of being human in the world, beyond these signifiers. Attendees are invited to share their experiences of where chaos  is inclusive and where it's been problematic: attendee participation warmly welcomed.

     Professor Patricia MacCormack been an occult practitioner for thirty years and currently combines academic scholarship and practical occultism. She is the author of many articles and seven books, most recently The Animal Catalyst and The Ahuman Manifesto.  She is Professor of Continental Philosophy at ARU, Cambridge, and lectures internationally.
