About The Event

Many cultures have beliefs around maleficium (evil-doing magic) and have a concept of the Evil Eye, a gaze which causes misforture. Historical accounts of witches usually involved accusations of cursing, and magical practitioners were often paid to cure people of curses. Rebecca Beattie's workshop looks at this dark field, and she then demonstrates a selection of methods people have used  for magical protection. The practical part of the workshop will involve making cleansing salt and water, a protection bath blend, and a break-the-habit bath mix. If you wish to join in, bring: dish of water, cup of salt, some rosemary, lavender, sage, bay leaves.

Dr Rebecca Beattie brings almost two decades of experience; she is much-loved for her highly-informed approach, which she combines with a warm, inclusive style. Rebecca is a Wiccan priestess who brings years of lived experience to her teaching. She is also a published author; has a doctorate in Creative writing and works professionally at a senior level in the charity sector.
