About The Event
Dianic witchcraft emerged in Los Angeles in the mid-1970s – a creative, improvisational tradition with no central leadership, no hierarchy, and no gods or men.
In this illustrated talk at Treadwell’s, Linda Rosewood reflects on discovering Dianic magic as a young feminist seeking a women-centred spirituality. Tracing its early development through Zsuzanna Budapest and its spread through women’s circles, she shares her own experiences of forming a coven. She also considers the Dianic worldview and the lasting value of a homegrown women’s tradition. Expect a rare glimpse into a movement still little known outside the US, offered by a woman who lived its formative years first-hand. The evening concludes with a Q&A and complimentary drinks.
Linda Rosewood is a writer and poet from Santa Cruz, California, who now lives in Ireland. This evening celebrates her debut novel A Circle Outside, which charts her lived experiences practising Dianic witchcraft in 1980s…
