About The Event
Tonight lays out the foundational ideas and practices of Aleister Crowley’s magical system. Marco Visconti introduces them clearly and engagingly. The central solitary exercises are then demonstrated and practiced all together in class. A beginner can then, if they wish, carry on undertaking these at home.
Many who have read about Crowley’s magick have told us they would welcome hands-on guidance on starting out in a practical sense. So in this workshop the key things involved in a home-based Thelemic life are covered in turn: from Liber Resh, a rite to welcome the sun, to Thelemic Yoga with particular attention to pranayama and asana, to the short Star Ruby and Liber Reguli rites, the Middle Pillar exercise, and the keeping of a magical diary. Absolutely no previous experience is expected. The evening workshop is both practical and theoretical, well structured and engaging.
Marco Visconti studied Religious Anthropology at Rome’s La Sapienza and Audio Engineering at Milan’s SAE, then worked 15 years as a touring musician, with bands XP8 and Faderhead. He’s been a Thelemite for 20 years, receiving initiation into the A∴A∴, Choronzon Club, and Ordo Templi Orientis: he is currently the driving force behind Ecclesia Gnostica Universalis in Anglia, a thelemic and gnostic church not tied to any particular order or organisation. His Patreon offers one-on-one tuitions. A dynamic practitioner with a clear instruction style, he always sells out these engaging and fulfilling evenings.
