About The Event

Old Folklore Series

Since ancient times, circles of herbs and flowers have been employed to celebrate the victorious, and to commemorate the dead. Laurel wreaths were worn by athletes and priestesses; children make daisy chains. Hannah Sanders' workshop explores the lore of magic circlets, then demonstrates making one, to teach the skill. Everyone will be able to make their own, and will know plants powers and meanings so their garlands can contain secret messages and magic charms. To join in, bring: metal/wooden hoop, string, scissors, greenery selection.

Hannah Sanders is a traditional folk singer as well as being witch and magical herbalist. She was also the last apprentice of writer and tarot reader Joyce Collin-Smith, and is the granddaughter of a well-known Irish fortune teller.
