About The Event

Acclaimed American poet Sylvia Plath (1932-1963) created a body of work that profoundly affects readers worldwide, to this day.  Julia Gordon-Bramer spent over 15 years exploring the writer's private esoteric life,  and tonight she talks about Plath's engagement with crystal-gazing, astrology, Qabalah, Tarot, automatic writing, spells, seances, dream-workings and rituals. To her mind, esoteric activities nourished the poet's extraordinarily brilliant creative output. She joins Christina Oakley Harrington on the sofa for an interview-style conversation, with questions from the audience. If you, too, need intense experiences with the mysterious, this night's for you.

Soiree, book-signing and good conversation follow on the shopfloor.  Julia's newly published book is The Occult Sylvia Plath: the Hidden Mystical LIfe of the Visionary Poet.
