About The Event
Join us in-person at Treadwell's for a night of meditative singing and enacting sacred and spell technique for voice.
In this event, Nicole Bettencourt Coelho helps students to explore voice improvisation and exercises as a group, looking into strategies of spells, meditation and sacred song. The class also explores intuitive approaches to building choral sound, to aid contemplation, integration and release through toning. No previous music knowledge or training is required. Expect a ritualised, communal evening of voice expression in a safe and nurturing environment.
Nicole Bettencourt Coelho (they/them) is lead professor of live electronics at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and also runs the Live Electronics Orchestra, a research project harnessing intuitive and somatic practice to co-create expressive performances in real-time with live musicians and dancers.
