About The Event

In times of injustice through history, it's often fallen to the community's magical folk to redress the imbalance.

This class examines the historical importance of magic for right moral outcome, especially in service of the powerless. Drawing from folklore and cunning craft, Hannah outlines traditional ways to promote fairness and balance in outer world circumstances. From simple blessings and incantation prescriptions to pilgrimages, participants will walk away with an array of occult methods to restore peace to the subjugated and wronged.

The 'Old Witch Ways' class series explores the key skills requested of witches and modern cunning folk within their communities today. (They are designed to be drop-in classes so you don't need to attend all of them.) The next events in the series are: Reading Dreams (29 April), Removing the Curse (22 May) and Seeing the Future (19 June). If the event has passed and you'd like to catch up, please contact onlineshop@treadwells-london.com to access delayed viewing.

Hannah Sanders has a doctorate in anthropology and is a longstanding practitioner of folk and herb magic. She was the last apprentice of writer and tarot reader Joyce Collin-Smith, and she is the granddaughter of a well-known Irish fortune teller. Professionally, she is a traditional folk singer.
