About The Event

The art of interpreting dreams was associated with cunning folk and witches long before it passed into modern psychology.

This class is focused on the history and folklore of reading dreams from a magical viewpoint. Taking cues from the cunning books of old, Hannah explores traditional meanings of dream symbols and how to interpret them with uncanny accuracy in a modern context. With time, practise and a few techniques, it's possible to develop a rich relationship with the personal dreaming world and use those insights to make sense of everyday life.

The 'Old Witch Ways' class series explores the key skills requested of witches and modern cunning folk within their communities today. (They are designed to be drop-in classes so you don't need to attend all of them.) The next events in the series are: Removing the Curse (22 May), Seeing the Future (19 June) and Getting Justice (2 July). If the event has passed and you'd like to catch up, please contact onlineshop@treadwells-london.com to access delayed viewing.

Hannah Sanders has a doctorate in anthropology and is a longstanding practitioner of folk and herb magic. She was the last apprentice of writer and tarot reader Joyce Collin-Smith, and she is the granddaughter of a well-known Irish fortune teller. Professionally, she is a traditional folk singer.
