Doug Batchelor on Grimoire Magic – Discussion & Soirée

In this live-with-an-audience event, Doug Batchelor joins Christina on the Treadwell's sofa to discuss how he came to be an active practitioner of this tradition. He describes his occult adventures throughout the last 19 years, and how the Greek Magical Papyri were his 'gateway drug' into magic. He also importantly explains how he went from only reading grimoires to actually carrying out the actions described in them. Everyone has the chance to ask questions after the initial discussion, and a soirée on the shopfloor with complimentary drinks follows.

Doug Batchelor is the producer and voice of the popular podcast 'What Magic is This?'. His interests sweep the spectrum of esoteric traditions, from the Greek Magical Papyri to the Golden Dawn. Based in the United States, Doug is visiting London for a few days. As followers of his podcast know well, he is always attentive to how people make the transition from reading about the magical arts, to lighting the incense and practising them. Tonight he tells his own story of that journey.
