About The Event
The Esoteric Book Club is a monthly gathering for those drawn to the rich, strange world of occult literature.
Each in-person session begins with a short illustrated talk from Professor Allan Johnson on the author, historical context and esoteric themes of the chosen text, followed by group discussion. Guided meditations and reflective exercises help deepen engagement with the book. Please read the selected title in advance and bring a copy, along with a notebook and pen. For our first session, we’ll be reading Lolly Willowes – Sylvia Townsend Warner’s witty, subversive novel about a woman who leaves her conventional life, moves to the countryside and befriends the devil.
The Esoteric Book Club meets on the first Wednesday of every month, 7–9pm. We'll be publishing the individual events for them in the coming weeks. Upcoming reads include:
5 August – Lolly Willows – Sylvia Townsend Warner
2 September – Piranesi –…
