Learn to Read Tarot (Major Cards) – Online Course

In this interactive, fun and well-structured course, one of our generation's most gifted teachers introduces the tarot to the student just starting out.

Using the classic and most widely used deck of modern esotericism, the Rider-Waite-Smith, Adrien Mastrosimone leads participants through the ‘major arcana’: the 22 iconic archetypes and most important cards of the tarot. There’s plenty of opportunity to practise throughout, so by the final session, everyone knows how to conduct their own readings.

Short history of tarot, introduction to ‘The Fool’s Journey’

Week 2 – Tue 9 April

Exploration of the major arcana, part 1

Week 3 – Tue 16 April

Exploration of the major arcana, part 2

Week 4 – Tue 23 April

Guidance and techniques for reading a 3-card spread

Adrien’s approach combines teaching individual card meanings with thorough guidance on forming effective questions. He also gives a host of tips and tricks on how to link cards together and read them in the context of a  spread. In the last week, participants have the chance to bring personal questions and get coached live on their reading technique, further solidifying their understanding.

This course can be combined with Adrien’s 4-week online course on the 56 minor arcana cards (starting on 30 April). We recommend doing both, in any order, for a comprehensive introduction to the tarot.

Please bring a Rider-Waite Smith style tarot deck to each online session. (For questions about decks, email onlineshop@treadwells-london.com.) You will also need a flat space to lay out the cards. All classes are recorded, and able to be viewed by students throughout.

Adrien Mastrosimone has over 20 years’ experience in the art of tarot. He started reading the cards in his teens and went on to study under several tarot masters. Alongside his specialism in the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, he is an acknowledged expert in the traditional Marseille system. Adrien's rigour and personal warmth make him a hugely popular tutor.
