About The Event

Ideal for works of purification and protection, salt is one of the most fundamental materials of magic.

In this online workshop, green witch Hannah Sanders teaches students how to bless, cast and make specialised salts for designated purposes. Frequently used in the preparation of healing elixirs, salt has been long-used by magicians and witches in works for longevity, stability and wellbeing. Designed for both the beginner and experienced practitioner, expect to blend several types of salt and learn a core skill in magical practice.

Students will craft: Blessed Salt, Witch’s Salt, Iron Salt, Mineral Salt.

Please bring dried rosemary, sea salt, rock salt, charcoal and wood ash.

The ‘Materials of Magic’ workshop series teaches participants how to build a personal magical apothecary. (They are designed to be drop-in workshops, so you don't need to attend all of them.) The events in the series are: Making Magical Inks (18 Sep), Making Magical Oils (16 October) and Making Magical Washes (23 October). If the event has passed and you'd like to catch up, please contact onlineshop@treadwells-london.com to access delayed viewing.

Hannah Sanders has a doctorate in anthropology and is a longstanding practitioner of folk and herb magic. She was the last apprentice of writer and tarot reader Joyce Collin-Smith, and she is the granddaughter of a well-known Irish fortune teller. Professionally, she is a traditional folk singer.
