About The Event

Rebecca and Janet discuss coming to the craft, and what has kept them practicing it, as well as things they wish they had known when they first started out. Together they discuss Wicca, Witchcraft and various spiritual practices, and where there is overlap as well as difference. They will also explore Janet's influence on Wicca and her hopes for where its future lies. After the conversation there will be time to put your own questions to the two of them.

Janet Farrar is an internationally recognized High Priestess who has been practising Witchcraft since 1970. With her late husband, Stewart she has authored some of the most influential books on Wicca, including A Witches Bible, A Witches Goddess, among other titles.  Her latest book, Lifting the Veil is one of the first books that looks at the practise of Drawing Down the Moon as a form of trance-prophesy and deity possession.  She has lectured internationally on the subject in the UK, as well as Europe, the United States, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Dr Rebecca Beattie has spent more than twenty years studying and practicing witchcraft and Wicca, and has a deep understanding of the traditions underpinning the practices. A published author, her books include Nature Mystics: The Literary Gateway to Modern Paganism and Wheel of the Year: A Nurturing Guide. Site:
