About The Event
In this two-hour afternoon workshop, the practical acts of magical resistance are unpacked, both theoretically and ritually. Laura Tempest Zakroff, working with the idea #WeAreAradia (WeAreAradia) considers the political and activist magic of witchcraft, past and present. The workshop has two parts. It opens with a lecture and discussion on magical resistance history (ancient and modern), investigating accessible and practical witchery (offensive and defensive), and discussing resources to inspire practice. The second part consists of a ritual calling upon Aradia to bring wisdom, protection, and guidance for empowerment and sovereignty.
Laura Tempest Zakroff (she/they) is a professional artist, author, performer, and Modern Traditional Witch based in New England. She holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, and her artwork has received awards. She is author several books including Weave the Liminal.
