About The Event

Amulets, talismans and charms are magical items that protect and aid those who own them and have been used all over the globe since ancient times.

In this in-person workshop, Lucya Starza explores their historical and modern use and teaches participants how to make their own. She explains the difference between amulets and talismans (which are subtly different despite the words being used interchangeably), and defines exactly what charms are. She then examines several items that fall under all three categories, from luck-bringing four-leaf clovers and acorns, to symbol-inscribed, enchanted everyday items. During the workshop, everyone has the chance to make simple amulets themselves using paper, card and pens or pencils, and everyone takes home what they've made. (All supplies provided.)

Lucya Starza is an eclectic witch in London whose decades of practice inform her teaching and writing. She has written books on candle magic, poppets and now scrying. Lucya writes weekly in her famed and acclaimed Bad Witch's Blog.
