About The Event

Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot (illustrated by Frieda Harris) is one of the most extraordinary tarot decks ever created.

In this 2-part workshop, longstanding occultist Julian Vayne introduces the deck he has personally worked with for over 40 years. Participants dive deep into the cards' magical system, exploring their vivid symbolism and learning how to use them for self-empowerment and ceremonial magic. Expect a varied and engaging blend of lectures, discussions and hands-on exercises.

Suitable for both beginners to the Thoth tarot and those looking for fresh approaches to a familiar system, this is a rich and accessible exploration of one of the landmark divinatory tools (and esoteric artworks) of the 20th century.

Runs 6 and 13 June, 7-9pm, on Zoom. Please bring a Thoth tarot deck, pen and paper. For questions about decks, email us onlineshop@treadwells-london.com.

Julian Vayne is an occultist with over 35 years’ experience. His work is informed by chaos magic, Wicca and eastern mysticism. A regular workshop leader and speaker, he is co-organiser of the psychedelic conference Breaking Convention, and sits on the academic board of The Journal of Psychedelic Studies. He is also the author of several works, including Getting Higher: The Manual of Psychadelic Ceremony. His books, essays and articles are published in both the academic and esoteric press.
