Myth & Lore is a new zine that describes itself as dedicated to 'everything weird, wonderful, mythological and folklore based'. The inaugural issue certainly fulfils this brief, featuring a wide assortment of cryptids – mythological and magical creatures – from across the United Kingdom. The contributions include poetry, short prose, interviews, artwork and photographs, and the cast of cryptids include not only mythical figures such as Nessie and Spring-Heeled Jack, but also everyday critters such as magpies and the zebra finch. There is also a feature on different mythical black dogs in British folklore. Striking black-and-white illustrations throughout complete this thrilling start to a new zine for readers.
