Modern edition of a manuscript of early modern magic, with commentary by Dan Harms and illustrations by S. Aldarnay.

Oxford, Bodleian Library, Douce MS 116 is an early modern compendium of ritual magic and occult knowledge, representing the work of four different owners over three centuries. Written in a mix of English, Latin, and Welsh, the manuscript contains a diverse range of material – magical treatises, charms, necromantic experiments, various conjurations – alongside passages on various occult topics, from fairies to demons to planetary magic. This beautiful edition – accessibly typeset with S. Aldarnay's clean, modern recreations of the original diagrams and illustrations in the manuscript – makes for a fantastic working or reading copy, excellent for both practitioner and scholar.
